Gabon faces COVID-19 resurgence - minister

 



Gabon is currently dealing with an increase in season influenza cases, with the country having recently documented 25 Coronavirus cases, according to Gabonese Priest of Wellbeing and Gatherings Adrien Mougougou in an explanation on Wednesday.


"We have noticed an increase in the number of flu illnesses beginning in early October 2023," said the clergyman, citing the reactivation of the functional scourge response unit and urging the populace to be cautious.


"From October 6 to the 9th of November, a total of 5,964 cases of sporadic influenza were recorded." During the same time period, 25 Coronavirus cases were reported, with five patients hospitalized. "All of the cases are in the district of Libreville, Gabon's capital, and its environmental factors."
